RSS feeds & Token system?

Hi All, I'm looking to purchase 68classifieds to replace the very basic classifieds module of our community portal (powered by XOOPS).

I'm okay if our members will have to have a separate signup/login for the 68classifieds section but I definitely need a way to RSS feed the most recent ads on 68classifieds to our community portal's home page. Is this possible?

Another questions: has 68classifieds ever consider a token system where folks that prepay x amount will receive bonus tokens? Right now we are only charging a nominal amount of $1 for ads and paypal charges eats up almost 40% of that amount. It would be great if we can offer clients 6 tokens for $5, or 13 tokens for $10, etc. This way it actually won't cost us anymore to give our members the extra tokens.

There is a rough rss feed generator script that comes with 68classifieds. It simply generates the RSS XML and you would have to in turn decide how you would like to display that.

To my limited knowledge I have not seen this brought up before but 68C developers are very open to new ideas and if there is enough demand features generally get added at one point or another.

    RSS Feed & Token

Thank you for the prompt response.

So it looks like RSS to another site is no problem. Great!

I have another question: is it possible to setup a membership group (say group-A) so that they can always post free ads in a specify listing package (say package-A)?

What I want to do is to allow our advertising clients (of whom we charge a monthly/yearly fee) the ability to post photo ads at no charge -- but they still need to pay extra for bold, featured, etc.

As I tried the administration feature in the demo, it seems like the closest I can get to is specifying x amount of free ads for x number of days - I can't just say anyone in group-A will always be able to post package-A ads for free, until we manually remove them from that group. Is that correct?

Actually, I think just answered my own question here with the above post. I can do this by simply set up different membership packages. So if they pay $5 we'll give them 6 free ads, etc. I think the only limitation with the existing setup is that they must use the ads within 365 days.

You could also apply a discount of the price of group A, then make a new usergroup and place those customers in that usergroup. Last just assign that discount to that usergroup. When they checkout it will discount the cost of the package.
